Our Philosophy
Understanding before intervention
Every project begins by carefully observing the building, understanding how it was originally constructed, how it has changed over time, and the materials and techniques that give it character. We believe conservation is about preserving significance, not replacing it.
Understand
Every project begins by carefully observing the building, how it was originally constructed, how it has changed, and what gives it significance.
Conserve
We preserve original fabric wherever it can be retained, using compatible traditional lime materials and techniques that respect its history.
Create
Where elements have been lost, we recreate them through traditional craftsmanship, made to sit naturally within the building's character.
Classic Plasterwork is a specialist practice dedicated to the conservation, restoration and creation of fine plaster work, where knowledge, craftsmanship and traditional skills are valued equally.
