Plaster work in Cheltenham
Cheltenham's Regency architecture is among the finest in England, with stucco facades, ornate cornices and ceiling roses defining the principal rooms of its listed terraces and villas. Much of the original decorative plaster work survives beneath later decoration, and our work in the town has focused on revealing, conserving and sensitively completing these schemes.

Buildings we work with
Regency and early Victorian terraces, spa-town villas, stuccoed townhouses and later Victorian residences. Many sit within the Central Conservation Area and carry Grade II or higher listing.
Materials and approach
Regency interiors typically feature three-coat lime plaster on lath, with run mouldings and cast enrichments in fibrous plaster. Conservation work prioritises the removal of later paint layers, the repair of original enrichments using compatible lime-based materials, and the design of new elements that grow from the existing architectural language.
